Rockstar Games will announce its next game this year , according to an insider specializing in the Grand Theft Auto 6 and Red Dead Redemption company . The GTA Forums user “Tez2” (via ComicBook ), a regular leaker of information about Rockstar Games games and especially about the news of their games as a service, adds that this title, supposedly Grand Theft Auto VI , would be released in 2023  Get gta 6 pc game download here.

Grand Theft Auto 6

In a message posted on December 31 , “Tez2” wrote in a thread on the aforementioned forum dedicated to speculation around GTA 6 : “Since we are going to enter 2022, it is practically a given that the next game will be announced . in the new year . Following Rockstar’s pattern with major titles, expect a release a year later .” The insider does not reveal where this information comes from and does not specifically mention that this “next game” is the successor to Grand Theft Auto V.

Six years of GTA 6 rumors

Rumors about Grand Theft Auto VI began in 2016 , three years after the release of GTA 5 and two before the release of Red Dead Redemption 2 , when Techradar claimed that Rockstar had started work (without specifying if it was pre-production) on the sixth installment in the series. The study owned by Take-Two has never officially ruled on GTA 6 , although its parent company did come out in May 2020 to deny that the game will be released in 2023 , a conclusion that had been reached when analyzing the forecasts expenses of the company itself.

Although different more or less credible information about GTA 6 has emerged , in April 2020 the Kotaku medium published an article focused on cultural changes within Rockstar after speaking with several studio employees. There was talk of GTA 6 , and it was mentioned that it would be “moderate in size” and that it would be expanded later with “regular updates”. Of course, it was indicated that it was in a phase of “early development”.

It seems like only yesterday that Rockstar Games released its critically acclaimed Red Dead Redemption 2 , setting us free in a massive frontier world of bandits and gunfights. It can’t have been that long before the smash hit Grand Theft Auto 5 released , right?

Well actually yes you can. GTA 5 may have been reissued to extend its shelf life, but it originally came out way back in 2013. A lot has changed since then, and with a new generation of consoles at our hands, made up of the PS5 and the Xbox Series X and S , now we know for sure that another game from Rockstar’s most famous franchise is on the way.

Starting with the possible release dates, it’s worth getting a bit of background. Although GTA 5 was released in 2013, Rockstar couldn’t immediately devote its full attention to developing a sequel. Apparently he did start working on GTA 6 back in 2014, but in the meantime he had a little Red Dead Redemption 2 business to do, not to mention the PC, PS4 and Xbox One versions of GTA 5, and the PC versions. and Google Stadia from Red Dead Redemption 2.

All of that takes work, but it’s out of the way now, and Rockstar has finally come out in the open to announce that it is indeed working on GTA 6 , and while it has nothing to share right now, there will be more news in due course.

It’s great to know what we all suspected: there will be a sixth GTA game, and it’s already in full development. Of course, do not have too many illusions that it will appear soon. In late May 2022, French journalist Chris Klippel said that Rockstar was planning to reveal a mystery project soon, so it’s possible that this points to GTA 6 getting a trailer at some point.

In early July 2022, another update from the Rockstar community mentioned that the developer is aware of “the need to exceed player expectations and make this next entry the best it can be”, so we’re interested to see how ambitious the game is.

Platforms from GTA 6

Probably the other key detail contained in that first big leak about GTA 6 concerned the platforms it will likely release on. Evidently, GTA 5 came out at the end of the console generation, on PS3 and Xbox 360, and was later reissued with better performance and graphics on the next series of consoles.
